In a significant move ahead of Raksha Bandhan, Jharkhand’s Chief Minister Hemant Soren introduced the “Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana.” This initiative offers monthly financial support of ₹1,000 to women between the ages of 21 and 50, aiming to assist a total of 48 lakh women across the state. The inaugural payment has already reached 57,120 beneficiaries. Starting in September, payments will be disbursed on the 15th of each month, and recipients will be alerted via SMS. Soren also highlighted the critical need for awareness to safeguard beneficiaries against cyber fraud.

Eligibility Criteria for Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana
To participate in this government scheme, the applicant must be a permanent resident of Jharkhand state.

- The family of the applicant woman should be included in the Antyodaya family category.
- The applicant woman must have a bank account linked to Aadhaar card and mobile number.
